And we found the answer by the name of MicroFlex™.

MicroFlex™ is a unique Ultra-Thin Lens Array film developed by Forward Optics, Inc (USA). This new technology was designed for the brand authentication and security printing markets and protected by US Pat. No. 6,856,462B1 and patents pending.  

MicroFlex™ is a polypropylene linear lens array film specifically designed for flexographic and web offset presses.  The product allows a wide variety of dynamic effects including:

• moiré,
• depth,
• hidden images,
• motion effects.

The MicroFlex™ rolls are produced using PP (or PETG) resin . 

Printing on MicroFlex™ requires specially prepared images, very high resolution plates (our partner can go to 9600 dpi) and also high resolution anilox rolls (1600 to 1800 lpi with low BCM). This is why we warmly recommend to work with our prepress partners.
