On 20 May 2011, the European Commission adopted Regulation EU 494/2011 and its amendment, whereby the scope of limitation of cadmium to Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 has been extended. This Regulation shall enter into force on the 10 th December 2011. Thereafter, products which don’t meet the new requirements will not be marketable.
